CIrcles of Infinite Joy
This painting was created to inspire joy, properity and love. The background color was chosen for its resemblance to the golden hue of olive oil that is raised from olive trees on the earth basking in the joyful sun. The cirlces, approximately 400 in number, represent abundance and the infinite energy of nature, it’s movement, interaction and playfullness. The circles go within, forming an optical illusion as well as a offering a space of centering. Each circle is shaded in light blue and terracotta rose symbolizing the innocence of children as they grow (detail in right above). The painting offers a dynamic movment in the nature of the optical illusion as well as the individual shading of each circle. The shading is done in such a way that the brain interprets the lighter color first and then shadow. The eye travels in the pattern of the light color and then picks up the darker shade providing a dynamic visual experience.
