Krista Augius’s Mythical Codes series delves into the intersection of ancient symbolism, visual perception, and neuroscience. Rooted in Lithuanian folkloric patterns and echoing motifs from Vedic and pre-Columbian traditions, these works reimagine sacred geometries through a contemporary lens. Each composition employs optical illusions and rhythmic symmetry to engage the viewer’s eye in a continuous search for completion—activating alpha brainwave states associated with meditation and deep relaxation. This exploration evolved into the Cubic Waves series: a three-dimensional extension of her patterned language into acoustic art.
