Circles Series

The Circle Series of 2025 is a refined exploration of perception and presence, crafted to engage both the intellect and the senses. Each painting draws the viewer inward through carefully composed circular forms that act as visual meditative anchors. Rooted in the neuroscience of optical processing, the works utilize precise shading techniques that guide the eye from light to shadow, creating a compelling illusion of depth on a two-dimensional surface.

This intentional play of perception results in a dynamic, almost kinetic experience—one where the viewer’s gaze is not only directed but continuously engaged. The subtle interaction between light and form evokes a sense of movement and spatial expansion, offering a contemplative yet vibrant visual dialogue.

The Circle Series began from the first painting in this series, Circles of Intention. Krista Augius intended to transform collective energy into visual form through a series of painted circles, each infused with a unique word of intention gathered from over 500 participants. Rooted in community, ritual, and presence, this series becomes a meditative space where the convergence of circles invites viewers inward—toward stillness, clarity, and connection. Each work is a vessel for resonance: a subtle yet powerful offering of harmony, created not just for the eye, but for the inner self. In a time of dissonance, Augius’s circles act as portals—quiet anchors for reflection and centering.

For the discerning collector, these works represent a harmonious balance of conceptual rigor and aesthetic refinement—an invitation to invest in pieces that resonate intellectually and emotionally, and that evolve with repeated viewing.
