Dispersal Study (2024-2025)

Dispersal Studies extends Augius’s investigation into containment and resolution through three-dimensional, acoustic form. Composed of small modular units mounted on birchwood panels, the works function as both sculptural objects and sound-diffusing structures. Drawing from traditional woven patterns, the geometric relief disrupts and disperses mid- to high-frequency sound waves, gradually resolving acoustic activity into quiet.

Conceptually, the series parallels Augius’s visual investigations into internal centering. Where the Circle Series examines psychological and perceptual return within a visual field, Dispersal Studies addresses environmental noise through physical dispersion—allowing complexity to dissipate through repetition and structure. The result is an integrated visual and auditory experience in which resolution emerges through sustained interaction rather than immediate suppression.
